I've always always wanted to be a "writer" but I am way too A.D.D. to sit down and actually write. Even all those years of A.P. and advanced english and literature classes [which I aced btw ;) couldn't help tame my overactive brain] so I consider myself more of a idea and execution man. That's probably why I'm studying operations and planning in college but that's beside the point. The one thing I do-do is read and I mean a read a lot. I also do some freelance-ish editing/reviewing at my college for the english and writing majors and our newspaper. I can check your grammar and spelling like most editors but my real talents lie in analyzing writer's execution of their stories. More simply put, I am very observative and can spot the little things you can't spot. I'm always that person when I watch movies who notice that in one scene a person will have their seatbelt on and then mysteriously in the next scene the seatbelt will be gone. So basically I'm a really annoying movie partner but a damn good fiction editor. I take pride in the fact that I notice little things like when a character says something that doesn't match their established personality or when a scene hasn't been elaborated enough. With erotic fiction I am a stickler for noticing when sex scenes get a little too cheesy or unrealistic and when writer's tend to make more intimate moments a little too "sappy teenage romantic comedy". I prefer to edit stories about gay men or gay sex just because it's way easier for me to get into the writer's head if the story is something I'm actually interested in. I try to stay away from anything nonhuman/sci-fi/fantasy and also with fetishes I don't do well with anything too hardcore. Stories that I really connect with are ones of men just coming out of the closet, men struggling with sexual identity, or men who find themselves in love with just one man. I guess you can say that my taste in erotic fiction shadows my actual life but then it makes sense since it's what I've been through and that connection helps me analyze a story that much better.
