Can My Stories Remain Published After I Leave Literotica?

Literotica Authors sometimes need to leave the site for any number of personal reasons. We understand, and of course you are free to leave anytime. Authors taking a break from publishing erotica often ask us how they can keep their already-published stories and other works available for their loyal readers - even after the author has left the site. We call this process “archiving” of works, and it is available to all Lit authors when they leave the site.

If you’re leaving for a short time or you think that you will be back at some point in the future, we recommend that you simply leave your account as it is so that you can log back in a month or year later and resume your activity where you left off.

If you’re planning to leave the site permanently but you would like your stories and other works to remain published on the site, we are happy to accommodate that. You have several options:

  1. You can simply stop logging into your account and let it run on autopilot. Your stories and other works will remain published and available to readers.
  2. If you would prefer to change your username for any reason (to remove a well known identity for example), but you would like to keep your works published on the site, you can simply request a username change before abandoning the account. Your works will remain published under the new account name, and you will still be able to login at some future date if needed.
  3. If you would like to delete your account altogether before you leave but you want your stories to remain published on the site, we can create a new author account (not connected to you) and transfer the stories and other works to that account. This archiving action will allow readers to keep reading your stories while you move on with your life. Archiving stories is handled by the site admins, so please follow these simple instructions to get it done quickly and easily:
    1. For security purposes and to make sure the author is actually the one making the archive request, you must log into your account.
    2. Create a new story submission titled “ARCHIVE STORIES”. In the body of the submission, put the names of the published submissions you wish move along with a confirmation that you would like to move the stories to a clean account for archiving.
    3. If you want all of your work moved, you can write “ARCHIVE ALL” in the form rather than listing every submission by name.
    4. If you want all of one series moved, you can write “ARCHIVE [SERIES NAME]” in the form rather than listing every submission by name.
    5. Please do not send a request to delete your account until AFTER the works have been successfully archived, as we cannot recover works from deleted accounts.

If you choose to archive your stories before leaving, please be aware that it is a relatively permanent process. The works will not be associated with you directly, so you would need to manually contact support for any discussions about how to get access to them again in the future. Generally authors use the archiving process when they do not intend to return to Literotica in the future, but they want their works to remain available to readers indefinitely. If you do plan to return to publishing on Literotica in the future, option number one or two above would probably be preferable.

Submission archiving is usually completed within 2-5 days.
