To be near you, to take a breath
And not shake with giddy
Anticipation, silly notions
Shards of dreams passing between us
It will never get any easier
To want you, to watch you
From afar, my breath catching
In my throat, feeling numb
Shards of dreams piercing my heart
It will never get any easier
To see you live your life
And ignore the longing, the painful
Pull towards you I can’t follow
Shards of dreams crumbling to dust
