Pretty good story. I stayed with it and it turned out to be very interesting.
Sympathetic if not dynamic main characters , hooky introduction , some sharp commentary on society, fiscal management and family dynamics, a few solid scenes then story lost traction and kind of powered down like phone that needs recharging. It wasn't a bad read , but not compelling .
The Hispanic theme hit home for me on personal level but this story studiously avoided pushing all its chips to center of poker table. As for “ buying “ a home in Mexico ? The couple in story is a bit young to settle down . Renting 4-6 months is viable option . Love the gente , pero el gobierno ? Dios mio !
I've enjoyed this series as a whole by CorvusTurim777. He has sharp eye for the marginal middle and underclass characters , injecting ribald or laconic humor at timely intervals . But this installment lacked usual oomph from my perspective. Maybe if goldigging Renata and wary Matt trysted ?
Interesting and unique style but no denouement. Wife being defensive about her passle of possums family got old fast.
Thanks for something different
