Better Than the German Original

Surprisingly, this machine translation is better than the German original! Several severe grammatical errors have seemingly been erased in the process, which is advantageous to any interested reader. Nonetheless, the story itself is still illogical nonsense about some drug trial inducing the “ghosts” (or whatever) of users to go on raping the “ghosts” (or whatever) of other users, or some such balderdash.

There’s no tension, only very mildly erotic action, and scarcely any stylistic finesse. Seriously, one of the most creative similes the author uses is “like a hot knife through butter!” What utter creativity! How long must it have taken him to come up with such an imaginative metaphor!

I recommend not reading this machine-translated nonsense.

Well, despite the praise of Auden I enjoyed the story anyway.
